In the late ‘90s, my journey into rave culture and streetwear took me into one of the most iconic names in rave fashion: JNCO. Starting as a retail employee on Melrose Avenue, I was immersed in a world where fashion and music collided. The store was more than a place to shop — it was a vibe, a cultural landmark, the place ravers went to find out what was going on in the underground (yes, this was before we used the internet to do that). We had turntables set up in the shop, and as one of the store's DJs, I quickly learned that the music we played shaped the entire experience.

From spinning underground records to energize the sales floor to curating accessible beats that introduced tourists to the magic of rave culture, music wasn’t just background noise — it was the heartbeat of the brand.
